Sonography – What is it?
Sonography is a field that uses ultrasound to take images of organs inside the human body. If you’ve ever been pregnant, or know someone that’s been pregnant, then you’ve probably seen the image of the baby in the womb – and you’ve probably nodded in agreement about what sex the baby is without really being able to see why that determination was made.
Doctor’s are using ultrasound more and more as a preventative measure – taking a quick peak at common problems areas to see if anything is emerging. As a result – diagnostic medical sonography has become a high demand profession in the health sciences field. Here are the vitals:

Education Requirements: You will need an associate’s degree from an ARRT accredited program.
How to get started
As mentioned above, you will need a degree from an ARRT accredited program. There are a wide range of programs and options available – from 1 year certificate programs to four year bachelor degree programs. There are some options to do some of the course work online, but a significant time commitment is going to be involved if you’re starting from scratch here.
